Description:

The vid is clipped at the end-- I said modern liberalism is a cult of indiscriminateness. Here I owe a debt to Allan Bloom. The modern left is Lennonist, not Leninist. I expand on the idea to explain identity politics, their obsession with consensus, blame America first-ism, and the adversary pose.

"i understand. But when you smoke some weed on a friday night and this is still in your system when you pee monday morning, the company will fire you?" Possibly. Depends on the job-- you may get reprimanded. If you don't want to do drug tests, you should get an office job. There's more than enough out there.

I want to limit the power of the federal government as much as possible. And even where they have the right to exercise power, I still want to limit it in practice. For example, if I want to buy European products, the political left taxes them to "protect American workers." I feel if American workers are making a shitty product, I should have the right to buy the better and/or cheaper foreign product without do-gooder socialists trying to engineer my choice.

My brother, who is right next to me at the moment, says if a stoned worker uses a forklift and injures a customer at, let us say, a Home Depot, it is the company that will be sued for millions of dollars. Since the company is liable, it is their right and responsibility to screen for drugs when the situation requires it.

thx for the explanition on the conservative camp, you were right, i am not familiar with the difference between paleoconservatives and neoconservatives. Regean wasnt a neoconservative i suppose. His policy was the war on drugs if i am not mistaken, that included marijuana.I agree with you that states should be permitted to have their own discussion on this topic, but dont you think it would help if weed was legal on a federal level, so all states can really make their own decision

bendingnote-- Again, some jobs are quite hazardous, and it is a danger to many workers to have people on the job with a stoner habit. So I would leave the discretion to the employer-- there are plenty of jobs where you do NOT have to take a drug test, e.g. where I work. My brother, in contrast, drives a truck, so he does have to take periodic drug tests. He says it is absolutely necessary in the line of work he is in.

"The business life in holland isnt very keen on hiring immigrants childrens." This isn't the case in the United States. My former college roommate, for example, is from Sweden, but has Iranian parents. In Sweden he would likely be discriminated against because of his name, while in the USA, it is the best person for the job. He's now making a very large amount of money working for Yahoo.

In Holland we are also experimenting with anonymous job/intern applications. The business life in holland isnt very keen on hiring immigrants childrens. So now the companies and institutes are forced to be 100% objective and positive discrimination/actions are being practiced and instituted(for the time being). This would be acceptable in your political view?
