bassapekin ::: Favorites They're not erasing history, but rather appreciating history by adjusting accordingly. Viva Africa!!!! 07-08-29 15:47:08 _____________________________________________________
XhosaWarrior ::: Favorites Very well said. 07-08-29 14:45:57 _____________________________________________________
splutonium ::: Favorites My point is if you want modern white people to take responsibility of the British hundreds of years ago , then you must allow for the same critique on your "race" ....can't we just live in today ? 07-08-26 06:20:27 _____________________________________________________
splutonium ::: Favorites Hey khaya...I just want to point out that you are being a bit selective in history . How many traditional names weren't made around zulu/xhosa etc battles and massacres ? The killing didn't start when whitey got here...there were wars and tribe on tribe murder for years . how far do we go back ? Who do you think killed the bushmen and took their land ? Just something for you to think about . 07-08-26 06:19:03 _____________________________________________________
Mrschippie69 ::: Favorites Hun I know about the whole it's nice to take your history back blah blah, but it goes deeper thatn that! It cost millions of rands to change these names. So they could be feeding the hungry children of african decent rather than given old names back! Johannesburg airport was a clever name it was what it was. How the hell is someone from poland meant to know who the hell oliver tambo is! 07-08-20 08:34:32 _____________________________________________________
Swanbow ::: Favorites I believe that names should be kept. You can dont erase history. 07-08-15 14:09:57 _____________________________________________________
1bulletz1 ::: Favorites thats why they should change aparthied names. when i was young my mum took me to this lovely place in durban and it was called 'the valley of a thousand hills' i think it was in zululand but i am not sure... anyways the locals had their own name for it in their native tongue and the boers came and changed it. I think they should change the name of that land back to what it was aswell! 07-08-15 12:45:22 _____________________________________________________
1bulletz1 ::: Favorites But they came into our country and changed the name of our land to things we don't understand because they changed it to their own language. By changing the names of streets, citys and airports we are offically claiming our land back the exact same land that the boers, british and dutch took from our ancestors. I hope that i explained it well :( My name is Nomvula my mummy is south african, i am really 13 years old :P 07-08-15 12:41:23 _____________________________________________________
joyceepoo56 ::: Favorites Correction Nasdaq7...that should have read, "You WOULDN'T make a bad Ambassador yourself. 07-08-09 01:16:41 _____________________________________________________
dickboersema ::: Favorites How can you compare Adolf Hitler (who killed, to begin, with 6 million Jews)with Hendrik Verwoerd, who developed a horrible political system, but did not try to erase an entire group of people. Nevertheless, I agree with you that that drive should be renamed. 07-08-06 10:38:42 _____________________________________________________ |
