I am a huge fan of the rainy day fund. My town generally wants to increase its bond limit rather than build up a rainy day fund. It makes me sick. They are basicaly planning to pay more for things, by increasing the amount of debt they can and will take on. Where they could have invested the surpluses of the past year and paid for projects outright.

Gov. If you cut the Fed. Budget the things you can cut are discretionary spending.(defense, transportation, goverment administration) Okay, then what?

Well, after 4 or 8 years of cutting discretionary spending, you will be cutting to the bone and then the states will start to increase their taxes and revenue to pick up the tap, especially for states that have a liberal bent. Gov you have to make a tough decision if you become president, you have to cut non-discretionary spending. Yes, you have to touch the third rail and cut interest on the national debt, soc. sec., medicare, and other welfare/subsidized programs.

Mitt Romney is absolutely the man to be our next president. He is overqualified with executive and turnaround experience. Clinton and Obama are just senators with almost no accomplishments. Just a bunch of talkers.

You might practice looking at the facts before spouting off on an issue. Spending on Iraq is less than 1 percent of GDP. I suspect that it's poor decision-making such as this which led you to support Ron Paul.

Mitt is simply the smartest candidate for president. I can't wait to see what he does in the White House. At present he must dance to the tune of primary voters, meaning that he comes off as very ideological. For me its not a question of whether he is conservative or not, I know he is, but once in office I know Mitt will get to work building a team of the best minds and unleash their creative talents to address the really big issues of our time.

3 out of 3 Ron Paul supporters I know are fanatics about a man who we have no impirical data on to show he could do well in office. Don't waste your time with paul... he has no chance.

rainmaker102- "for what the Iraq war costs, we could present each family of four a check for $46,000...we could have covered all 47 million uninsured Americans over the past six years for what the Iraq war cost us." -yahoo news If Mitt was serious about small govt, he would want to end the Iraq invasion. He wouldn't surrender to the income tax as if it's too hard to change. What kind of leader is that?

if mitt romney gets elected then ill be so relieved because hes the only one that proves he can do somthing good for this country.... and im gonna live in it my whole life, so the only smart thing to do is elect people that can help it not destroy it....

If he is the smartest candidate, why did Dr. Ron Paul need to point out to him that you need to ask Congress before attacking another nation...not a group of your lawyers? Mitt Romney just sounds like another politician trying to get elected, telling people what they want to hear.
